  • Abstract
We report the results of our investigations on dispersion compensation of fiber optic communication systems in the presence of nonlinearity by numerically studying the impact on a Gaussian pulse. Pulse degradation can be reduced significantly by the optimization of the dispersion map and launch power. Results show the importance of optimizing the dispersion map along with the optimum launch power to enhance system performance
