  • Abstract
    In order to improve the performance of XML data query, cached XQuery materialized view can be used to decrease the overhead of recomputation. However, it has data inconsistency problem when the data source is modified. Many researches on relational database proved that incremental maintenance of materialized view outperforms view recomputation, but it is still a challenge for it on semi-structured data model, such as XML data source. Our research proposes an incremental maintenance method for XQuery materialized view based on the idea of incremental computation, which can support incremental maintenance of XQuery materialized view contains user defined functions. It also proposes a code generation method to generate incremental maintenance program of XQuery materialized view automatically based on code generation technique. Experiments show that this method outperforms view recomputation.
