Abstract
The following proposal has the intention to specify the basics of a structured program, which leads to a Master degree in Underwater Inspection. The program will provide the tools and abilities that an Engineer requires to perform and successfully accomplished an underwater inspection. The offshore industry is growing and the investment in infrastructure (over and underwater) is growing too. The challenge that this industry will confront in the near future is enormous. A professional with the capabilities that an engineer has, will be the key to face that challenge. The program mission is to develop a professional with solid foundation in Commercial Diving, Underwater Non Destructive Testing (NDT), Corrosion & Coatings, and Inspection of Concrete Structures. An Underwater Inspectors will be professionals with knowledge, expertise, safety, and overall, the capability of taking the right and more adequate decision in their fields of endeavor.
