Abstract
A detailed study is presented of pulse width-modulated (PWM) motor drives for the purpose of determining their characteristic and providing accurate implementation and computer simulation procedures. Depending on the configuration of the drive circuit, the motor can be driven in any of several modes, resulting in either a linear or nonlinear characteristic. These modes of operation have been analyzed and tested in the laboratory. Modeling and simulation have also been performed and results are presented for comparison with experimental counterparts.<>
