Abstract
The paper gives the results of the experiments performed in order to evaluate the performance of new fluid impregnated all film power capacitors. For all fluids used the trends of the main dielectric properties of the capacitors are reported. The results of tests carried out to check the capacitor ability to withstand both transient and long duration overvoltages in combination with thermal stresses are also given and discussed. The tests proved that with the new fluids it is possible to make reliable all film capacitors with working voltage gradient higher than 55-60 V/μm
