Abstract
In this paper, we discuss the issues of the QoS routing for group communications in Cognitive Radio (CR) networks. The problem of our concern is: given a CR ad hoc network and a QoS group communication request, how to set up a communication connection so that the total bandwidth consumption of the communication is minimized while the QoS requirement is met. In this paper, we focus on the bandwidth requirement. We propose a core based bottom up (CBBU) method to solve the problem. In this method, we consider the communication routing together with slot assignment. In order to avoid getting a very long routing tree, all nodes in the network are layered first in the method. Extensive simulations show that our proposed method performs well in reducing the total bandwidth consumption of the communication.
