Abstract
Electrical distribution networks can experience low levels of harmonic distortion and higher efficiency when harmonic distortion is mitigated at its source. This requires solving for harmonic distortion at the facility level and more specifically at the loads which are the source for harmonics. This paper explains practical techniques to mitigate harmonics at the facility level in an effort to improve the quality of electrical power both in the facility as well as on the distribution system.
