  • Abstract
An integrated power network planning information system is developed, which can not only serve the business management functions of power network planning, but also provide assistant decision-making functions for planning. The system consists of three components, i.e. the basic data platform (BDP), planning business management subsystem (PBMS) and planning decision-making support subsystem (PDSS). BDP manages various kinds of basic data for planning, including socio-economic data, power plant data, power network equipment data, electricity demand data, load data, and so on. Meanwhile, BDP provides data supports for PBMS and PDSS. PBMS manages the working processes of various planning businesses, which come from the planning department of Guangdong Power Grid Corporation (GPGC), and are abstracted as workflows in the system. PDSS offers some computer-aided analysis and decision-making functions for planners in planning and project management processes. Applications and implementations in practical planning work show that the proposed system can improve the informatization level, management and efficiency of planning work, versus traditional work patterns.
