Abstract
In any sensor network, saving energy of sensor node has been a major challenge. Many researchers have suggested that data transmission is the main cause for energy consumption. Hence, in this paper we are proposing an energy saving data transmission technique which minimizes the amount of data to be collected and transmitted from source to destination. In the proposed model, DBSCAN is used to exploit the spatiotemporal relation among the sensor nodes, a subset of sensor nodes are selected to represent the entire network and finally an optimal path for data transmission is calculated by exploiting the artificial bees colony algorithm. Experimental result shows that subset of sensor nodes reduces the amount of data to be collected and query processing, and optimal path reduces the probability of retransmission of data.
