  • Abstract
    The Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Project (TRTP) is a 4,500 MW transmission project connecting the wind energy rich Tehachapi wind resource area north of the Los Angeles Basin, into the Southern California Load Center. The full project has been approved by the CAISO Board, a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) has been issued by the CPUC for the first phase of the Project, and the CPCN application has been filed with the CPUC for the remainder of the project. The project is comprised of eleven segments, almost entirely 500 KV facilities, including three new 500 KV substations. The project includes facilities to interconnect ten queued wind projects and two gas fired projects and deliver the energy into the SC Load Center. The first facilities will come on line in early 2009 and the full project will be complete in 2013.
