Abstract
Up to now, in research, many results on how to improve robots and to make them intelligent have been achieved. It may be good to step back for a moment and reflect on objectives. This is an opportunity, as well, to ask questions such as what do we consider to be intelligent, what methods do we have to create intelligent machines, and, are there limitations and controversial aspects to be considered. Some examples and trends derived from actual research, applications in medicine, robots for work in construction and in nano-techniques are presented
