Abstract
In order to introduce the particle filter techniques in the passive radar detection and tracking, we present in this correspondence a comparison between classical technique of tracking that uses a maxima search in the range/Doppler grid-space, and then estimates the target position using an extended Kalman filter and a proposed particle filter that uses directly the correlation output. The passive radar receives the signals of FM stations that propagate and reflect on a manoeuvring target.
