  • Abstract
In WLAN card design, the typical type is the PCMCIA card and many printed antennas have been reported for PCMCIA card applications. Currently, there is a miniaturized WLAN card (about the size of a small portable RAM disk) which uses a USB connection to be plugged into a notebook PC. The USB connecting cable can be bent, and hence the antenna on the WLAN card can have different positions and orientations. The paper presents a 2.4 GHz meander-line printed antenna for WLAN applications. The HFSS 3D EM simulator was used for design simulation. The antenna was fabricated on a double-sided FR-4 printed circuit board for experimental measurements.
