Abstract

This paper present the architecture of the protocol analyzer, simulator, and tester (PAST) which can be used for the protocol compatibility test of the CDMA mobile system (CMS). The PAST is also applicable to the protocol compatibility test for a general communication system. The PAST has some special features such as a multiprocessing kernel, multi-scenario handling to simulate more than one system simultaneously. These features are very useful for testing category soft-handoff, multi-party call, etc., in the CMS
