Abstract
One of the authors has proposed a new optical method to evaluate roughness of polished metallic surface. The proposed method needed a halogen lamp which has a Gaussian distribution of luminosity. In order to solve this problem, we introduce a new signal processing technique called two-dimensional M-transform.
