Abstract
The performance of a Manhattan like microcellular system with multiple reuse patterns (MRP) is evaluated. The system capacity and the outage probability are calculated. The outage probability, the probability of receiving an inadequate signal-to-interference ratio, is evaluated considering log-normal shadowing. The effects of the reuse factor, the base station antenna height, and the frequency band on the outage probability are investigated. Also, different bands division are studied. We compared the performance of the microcellular system with MRP against the optimal dynamic channel assignment (DCA). Varying the number of channels used in each reuse factor, the quality of service can be modified
