  • Abstract
Several factors inhibit the acceptance of technology by the small and medium business industry. Perhaps the primary factor to which this can be accounted is the uncertainness associated with the return on investment on technology spend and the effectiveness it would bring about on business functioning. This paper discusses the use of utility computing and software as a service as delivery means to provide services to an SMB. Using this delivery and gauging mechanism, organizations can leverage on the presence of a fully functional application stack and not have to invest heavily upfront to acquire them.
