  • Abstract
The authors describe a person counting system using a distributed touch sensor on stairs. The sensor has 96×84 detecting elements on four treads. The size of each sensor element is 10 mm×12.7 mm. Footprint images can be successively obtained from the sensor. The system counts the number of persons from these images
