Abstract
A novel adaptive Wiener filter solution has been derived for digital image processing applications. It uses a local variance field of the distorted image, which permits one to bypass a priori knowledge about statistical properties of the original image. The adaptive filter derived and presented in this paper showed good noise suppression ability and produced good edge sharpness
