  • Abstract
    Continuous-time adaptive signal processing has proved extremely effective in combating problems faced in wide bandwidth applications. This paper deals with the development of a continuous-time equalization scheme that would facilitate higher data transfer rates (in the range of 500 Mb/s to 4 Gb/s) in computer data channels while keeping the bit error rates low, i.e. in the region of 10-20 to 10-30 . The functioning of these equalization schemes and their effectiveness in improving the performance of two specific channels, viz. the T3E channel with a data rate of 500 Mb/s per wire and the GigaRing channel with a data rate of 150 Mb/s per wire, is analyzed. Both theoretical analyses and computer simulations reveal tremendous performance enhancement
