  • Abstract
The effects of parasitic admittances in the models of current-controlled current sources (CCCSs) on linear current-mode signal processing building blocks are determined. Two important special cases are found in which the effects of the parasitic admittances can be minimized. It is shown that if CCCSs are available with output admittances that are small enough in magnitude to be neglected but input admittances that must be taken into account, then such CCCSs are best applied to a network using the feedback-feedforward approach. However, if CCCSs are available with output admittances that cannot be neglected but with input admittances that can be neglected, then these CCCSs are best applied using the variables-within-network technique
