  • Abstract
The three-dimensional rigorous boundary-value problem of electromagnetic wave scattering by a perfectly conducting biconical structure with longitudinal slots is considered. The effect of longitudinal slots on scattering characteristics is investigated. It is well known that singularities of the boundary (vertices, edges, slots, etc.) affect scattering characteristics. The investigation of field behavior in the vicinity of singular points represents a special interest. The analytical solution of these boundary-value problems makes it possible to study, in particular, distinctive features of screens and field behavior near boundary singularities. The biconical structure under consideration consists of two coaxial circular semi-infinite perfectly conducting cones with periodic slots cut along generatrices. There are some interesting particular cases of this structure such as a plane angular sector, a cone with longitudinal slots, and a biconical surface consisting of the cone with longitudinal slots and an isotropic one
