Abstract
A 2-D model of the cardiac electrical activity is proposed in order to define the methodology of computation. The automatic propagation of the activation in the schematic representation of the auricles and ventricles is in relation to the actual distribution of the nodal or conductive tissues in the heart. The innovative feature of the model is the possibility of computing the potential in the proximity of the current sources by taking into account the heterogeneity of the electrical charge distribution along the activation fronts. The classical data on the anatomy (such as the orientation of the cardiac cells in the ventricles) or the physiology (such as the duration of the action potentials) have been taken into consideration.<>
