Abstract
The use of the respiratory reflex in audiology was reported early in the 1960s. However, the results were rather poor due to the low level of processing. The authors report on systematic research conducted to develop reliable methods to pick up, analyze, and classify the respiratory movements following sounds perception. The advantages of the procedure described, in audiology and neurology/psychiatry, are also explained.<>
