Abstract
The CCITT Common Channel Signalling System# 7 is a packet-switched network used to carry call signalling and control messages independently of the underlying telecommunications network. This paper derives the mean and worst-case packet delay experienced in a 6 node network under conditions involving multiple node failures using BCMP analysis. The result is generalized to be applicable to both symmetric and asymmetric traffic loads. Numerical results are based on actual performance measurements on the Singapore National network
