Abstract
In the development of smart grid, state estimation in distribution systems will likely face more challenges than that at the transmission level. This paper addresses one of such challenges, namely, the absence of topology information, by developing a forecast-aided topology change detection method and an event-triggered recursive Bayesian estimator to identify the correct topology. Simulation studies with microgrid induced changes are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
