  • Abstract
To investigate the content of selenium in ordinary and selenium-rich rice in Jilin area and understand its effects on human body. Selenium-rich rice were prepared using selenium-rich organic liquid fertilizer to spray during rice growing, then fed 6 groups Kunming mice using different doses of ordinary and selenium rice, 6 weeks later, blood DTNB direct method was used to detect the GSH-PX activity. Selenium content of both two kinds of rice using atomic fluorescence photometric. Selenium content in se-enriched rice is obviously higher than ordinary rice (P <; 0. 05), each dose group of selenium-rich rice compared with ordinary rice group, glutathione peroxidase (GSH - PX) activity enhanced obviously (P <; 0. 05), and the results give a suggestion that one adult needs intake selenium-rich rice daily 102.7 g, but needs ordinary rice 427.7 g. So selenium-rich rice utilization is benefit for the residents health and some disease prevention.
