Aerial refueling is the key enabling technology to greatly increase the operation radius and loiter time for combat aircraft. Tanker aircraft becomes the important support power in the modern warfare and changes the traditional combat concept. Effectiveness analysis plays a significant part in aircraft design and operation application. Effectiveness of tanker aircraft in the aerial refueling stage is analyzed based on its RMS. Effectiveness analysis model is established and a concrete example shows that the model is valuable. Based on this model and method, the effectiveness of tanker aircraft with one or more refueling devices can be analyzed and calculated, and the number of tanker aircrafts required in order to reach the certain effectiveness can also be estimated.
