  • Abstract
The quality of service, in networks, aims at improving communication behavior under a correct data transmission and an optimal use of resources. It is the degree of users´ satisfaction of services that a communication system provides. In this connection, the quality of service in multi-hop networks, including MANETs, poses various problems than in wired networks. It requires that the network complies with certain attitudes. Thus, ad hoc networks with their complex nature impose many constraints, relevant to mobility, connectivity, routing, and energy among others, that are difficult to handle. In this regard, the present paper deals with the multi-criteria formulation for the quality of service in ad hoc networks, as advanced, on the basis of multicriteria optimization techniques developed in the literature. The paper proposes, thus, a totalitarian approach which takes into account the different criteria of the QoS.
