Abstract
This paper presented and examined the necessity of revising volt/var planning and management in a distribution network connected with Distributed Generator (DG). The traditional framework together with the requirement for revision is reviewed. Some selected volt/var planning and management methodologies are conducted and compared with the conventional methods to reveal the tasks of the existing circumstances and benefits of the appropriate management. The actual system of Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) in Thailand is used in the simulation. The obtained results encourage to exploring for the alternative methods to overcome this task.
