  • Abstract
Summary form only given. Magnetic nanostructures such as magnetic superlattices and granular films exhibit magnetic phenomena such as oscillatory coupling through the nonmagnetic spacers and spin-dependent electron scattering. Moreover, these nanostructures display a giant magnetoresistance (GMR) effect. In addition, such magnetic materials reveal a significant nonlinear magneto-optical Kerr effect (NOMOKE). The authors carry out combined systematic studies of giant NOMOKE and GMR for Co/sub x/Ag/sub 1-x/ nanogranular films.
