Abstract
A simple accelerated thermal aging test is applied to verify the temperature index range of replacement insulation systems for rewinding stators of large rotating machines. The measurement of insulation weight loss at elevated temperatures and noting the progression of constituent deterioration provides valuable information for matching the variety of systems available to expected operating conditions and desired machine service life
