Abstract
Wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) optical fiber networks have been expected to play a main role in future communication networks. Wavelength conversion is one of the key techniques for the WDM network. We propose a novel polarization-independent self-pumped wavelength convertor using four-wave mixing (FWM) in a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA).
