Abstract
Although some articles have been written about team empowerment, few have offered a dynamic description of the process of team empowerment. In order to obtain a better understanding of the empowerment of the operative level, goal and process of team empowerment are depicted concretely in this article. It was inferred that self-management team is the ultimate goal of team empowerment to gain the match among ability, task and power. To achieve this goal, the cyclic process was discussed from balance state to imbalance state to new balance state between supply and demand of power. Finally, demand-pulling and supply-pushing strategies to bridge the gap of team empowerment were brought up to transform from a traditional team to a self-management team.
