  • Abstract
We formulate modern TCM (alternate or complement medicine) research as understanding genotype-phenotype relationships in the framework of Yinyang Wuxin of TCM. Apply the TCM theory and methods to gather TCM phenotypes that characterize the diseases while the patientpsilas genotypes can be measured by modern technology. Adding genetic imaging methods and microarray imaging, we intend to develop an integrated environment to combine the TCM into the genomic imaging environment. The multi-scale imaging, such as G-staining, aCGH and FISH, can be use to build a multi-scale imaging database. Integrating with other TCM databases, we will develop a systems biology workbench that could be useful for TCM research. Personalized medicine would be the aim of this effort.
