Abstract
This paper presents an approach to using semantic symbolic information for indoor navigation. A spatial model ontology is proposed for describing symbolic information. The semantic symbolic information is represented by OWL description. An indoor navigation system is presented. The system provides indoor navigation service. The management of creating semantic symbolic information and using such information for path finding are introduced in this paper. An example of applying the semantic symbolic information in exhibition hall indoor navigation is demonstrated. With semantic symbolic information, users are able to facilitate their navigation using support information that guides their actions to their desired location.
