  • Abstract
The classical controller design for a DC-DC switching power converter is usually based on the transfer function derived by the state-space averaging method. However, the load variations and input unregulated voltage are not taken into consideration simultaneously in a controller design. In this paper, both of them are treated as plant modeling uncertainty and exogenous disturbance respectively. Then a μ-synthesis technique is applied to design a μ-optimal controller to achieve the requirement of robust stability and robust performance. Finally, some computer simulations and experimental results are presented and compared with those obtained for a classical optimum controller
