This paper expounds the categories principle and the method and some domestic and international typical classification of information resources at first, Then on this basis, according to the characteristic and link degree analyze the adaptability between traditional classification and the classification for information resources of government affairs, and we can see that it needs classification to combine with theme law to draw the ideal categories method of information resources of government affairs from this, and then has made an introduction to analyze from such respects as the feasibility, basic principle and integrated mode, etc. in setting up the categories-theme integrated system.
