Abstract
The objective of this work was to design and build a data acquisition system (DAS) named Mathesis to be applied in biomedicine. Up to eight biological signals can be recorded in files created by DAS in a memory block. For data fetching, it has an RS 232-C interface (9600 bauds) and a parallel port. A tape recorder interface allows storage of data files in a cassette of their transfer from the cassette to the DAS. Acquisition of signals whose frequency spectra do not exceed 5 kHz is possible. High linearity and high noise immunity were verified.<>
