Abstract
Core loss is a very serious problem in the traditional silicon steel motor. Especially, the core loss increases sharply at high frequency and then the motor will not work. In view of this problem, this paper proposed to use amorphous materials instead of silicon steel to make motors and this kind of motor can work well at high frequency. The Iron losses and the copper losses of amorphous iron motor are compared with traditional silicon steel motor above the base frequency at the same size. The result shows that the total loss of amorphous iron motor is much less than that of traditional silicon steel motor with the frequency increasing. And the more important is that the amorphous iron motor can still work well at f >300Hz, but the traditional one can´t.
