  • Abstract
    For 3G mobile radio systems, the combined time and code division multiple access (TD-CDMA) is well suited for wireless local area networks. An optimized-capacity medium access control (OC-MAC) protocol is proposed to maximize transport capacity by supporting per-slot bit error rate (BER) and traffic rate scheduling while satisfying multimedia quality-of-service (QoS). An interference-based prioritized call admission control (IP-CAC) is proposed to maintain QoS under the effect of mobile handoffs by supporting adaptive admission priorities for handoffs and new calls of multiple traffic classes.
