Abstract
Left ventricular function analysis, with conductance catheter signals using DPV, were automatized by means of a virtual instrument based on graphic software. This system is able to acquire, either directly or from stored information, intraventricular volume (VIV), intraventricular pressure (PIV) and other physiological signals. It can visualize them on a screen on-line, including the calculated dP/dt and/or the corresponding PV loops. Calibration is also provided in absolute terms offering the possibility of choosing specific cardiac cycles. Besides, indices and graphs describing cardiac performance can also be obtained (as, for example, those derived from preload maneuvers). Non specialized personnel easily learn its operation while the system is versatile enough to be incorporated into other systems
