Abstract
This paper reports a new strategy to enhance the decontamination ability of microalgae by selecting a high potential strain for removing radioactive nuclide using a dielectrophoresis (DEP) based screening microplatform. Microalgae Chlorella vulgaris which has high contents of strontium, can be collected by finding the particular crossover frequency over the other that has relatively low strontium contents. Based on this, we design a novel screening microplatform considering easy separation and collection. After the screening and cultivation of C. vulgaris, they show more enhanced ability on radioactive decontamination in wastewater compared to wild type.
