Abstract
The environment sustainability is one of the main directions of intervention for all developed countries. Domestic and office electronic devices have significant share of total energy consumption worldwide. Therefore one important goal for government and environmental institutions is to promote and increase the energy efficiency of consumer electronic devices. In our work we try to address energy efficiency aspects of consumer electronics. Hence we proposed and implemented an intelligent and easy to deploy wireless sensors network based solution for power consumption monitor, analysis and control of electric, electronic and computing devices. In this paper we present an application of this energy monitoring infrastructure to identify the device specific both intrinsic and usage parameters that have large impact on energy efficiency of these devices. The energy efficiency of studied devices is evaluated based on the patterns identified in the measured power consumption profiles, called power signatures. Based on the achieved power profiles´ patterns we intend to develop power management set of control rules and notification alerts for such devices.
