Abstract
This paper presents a novel method for analyzing the electromagnetic radiation of VSC-HVDC converter station with consideration of its own characteristics. Simulation model of system are built and circuit parameters are solved. These parameters are prepared for evaluating the influence of EMI of converters. The electromagnetic radiation model based on magnetic dipole theory is described. With the magnetic model theory, equivalent loops of electromagnetic radiation source are selected. Factors influencing the electromagnetic radiation level and its reduction means are discussed in the paper. By reducing switching frequency, operation voltage order and harmonic current, the radiation can be constrained effectively. Compact arrange of equipment in converters can also be helpful.
