Telling Your Story: Helping Ocean Scientists Participate in Outreach and Education That Focuses on the Importance of Ocean Research and Technology

TERC and the Center for Ocean Science Education Excellence-New England (COSEE-NE) have designed a program to help ocean scientists, engineers, and technicians develop skills for working with K-12 teachers and students. We call this program Telling Your Story (TYS). TYS workshops have been offered four times over 18 months to a total audience of more than 70 ocean scientists. We discuss the rationale for the program, its structure and content, the outcomes, what we have learned, and our next steps
