Abstract
In this paper, economic dispatch solutions using evolutionary programming has been presented with the presence of independent power producers (IPPs). The performance of the proposed algorithm has been tested for synthetic IEEE-30 bus system having both smooth and non-smooth generator cost characteristics with both bilateral and multilateral transactions. It has also been observed that the proposed algorithm can be applied to larger systems and do not suffer with mathematical complexity.
