Abstract
A rigorous electrodynamic theory of the bandwidth microwave filter design on the basis of ferrite resonators in a beyond-cut-off section of a rectangular waveguide is made up. The joint of two waveguides and the ferrite resonator are considered as the basic elements, for which the scattering matrixes are found. Two cases important for practice are considered: the filters consisting of a finite number of ferrite resonators, either identical or different in geometry and material parameters. For a system of identical elements the scattering matrix factors are determined through the polynomials of Chebyshev. The solution to the boundary problems for the system with different basic elements is found by the operator method. Numerical algorithms and methods of optimisation of the diffraction characteristics calculation for both single and coupled ferrite waveguide-resonator systems are developed
