Abstract
The paper proposes method of the power system stabiliser (PSS) site optimisation, based on the, so called, virtual stabilisers. The method is not sensitive to the power system model size (there is not limit) and can be utilised both to the linear and nonlinear model. The method allows creating a ranking list of sites which are most suitable for the PSS installing. A series of tests were made on model of the Polish power system to verify correctness of the PSSs sitting. The results shows, that sitting is correct in majority, but one should consider optimising structure and parameters of power system stabilisers. In the paper there are also proposed methods of the PSSs´ parameters optimisation. Authors acquired to increase damping of electromechanical oscillation from 5 to 15%.
