  • Abstract
    Streaming media delivery services over the Internet have spread rapidly, but further traffic growth may degrade the quality of streaming services due to congestion and packet loss events. As a result, content playback quality can be degraded and the waiting time for playback can be increased. In this paper, we propose a transparent caching scheme using advanced relay nodes for streaming services. This scheme can alleviate traffic congestion on networks and overloading on the streaming servers. We show the effectiveness of the scheme through simulation evaluations.
